How to Set Low Battery Warnings on Your Windows 10 Laptop

Windows warns you when the battery is running low. The battery notification icon in the taskbar changes, and eventually a pop-up message appears. The idea is to warn you: charge the battery, save your work and turn off - or pray.

The good news is that you have control over the alerts. You can set when it appears and what action is required.
Follow these steps to set up each stage and determine what to do:

Open the control panel.

Press the Win+X keyboard shortcut and select the Control Panel item from the Super Secret menu.

Choose hardware and sound.
Select Power Options.

You are looking at a laptop power plan.

The battery warning level is set for a specific project.
In the Edit Package Settings window, click the Change advanced power settings link.

Finally, the Power Options dialog box appears. This is the place for everything related to power management in Windows.

Scroll through the list, and find the item labeled Battery.

As you can guess, this is the last item on the list.
Click the plus sign (+) by the battery to display various battery notifications and action options.

Each item has two sub-items – one for setting when the laptop is running on battery power and another for when the laptop is plugged in.

Set battery level warning.

In chronological order, here are the things you can sort:

Low battery alert: Set an alert for low battery level, before the situation becomes critical. Set to value to minimize the warning and off to ignore it.

Low Battery Level: Specifies the battery percentage for the low battery level warning.
The Samsung Galaxy line of phones can last between 11 and 13 hours, depending on the model. However, there are ways to get more out of any phone.

Menu settings will vary depending on the phone you are using; In this story, we are using Samsung Galaxy S 20 FE running on Android 11.
With these precautions in mind, here are some ways to extend the battery life on your Android phone.

Enable Power Saving Mode

Think you get stuck in a situation where you need your phone battery to last longer than usual? Put your phone into power-saving mode, which automatically turns on things that can drain battery life. On our test device, we go to Settings > Battery and device maintenance, then tap Battery entry.

Under the battery usage chart, we enable power saving mode to instantly limit network, sync, and location services and reduce screen refresh rate. However, by tapping on Power Saving Mode, we were able to further customize the feature by turning off Always On Display.
Leave the screen off
Speaking of your phone screen, it's a good idea to turn it off when not in use. This means how long the display stays on in the display settings. Find the "Screen time limit" option and adjust it so that the screen turns off more quickly when not in use.

Also, an always-on screen that shows the time and date even when the phone's screen is off. Turn it off. Go to your phone's lock screen settings and select "Always on". You can set a schedule to turn it off when you don't need it, set it to only show when you touch the screen, or turn it off completely.

If you activate your voice assistant with the word wake, your device will continue to listen to you and drain the battery while you wait.

You may find this convenient, but it costs more energy than it is worth. Whether it's Google Assistant or Samsung's Bixby, you can turn off this feature and save some extra juice.
Most Android phones have an assistant built into the OS, so hold the home button to invoke the feature and tap the inbox icon. If not, open the app.

Tap your profile picture and go to Hey Google & Voice Match, then turn off Hey Google if it's on.
If you have a phone with an OLED or AMOLED screen, this means that the phone is actually turning off the screen's black pixels to save battery when all those bright white panels are now dark. According to iFikit (Opens in a new window), you can save up to an hour of battery life by turning on dark mode.
